Producing
Electricity and Heat from Biomass on a Small Scale.

Following ten years of research and development, Talbotts Biomass
Energy
LTD of
Stafford have seen the
installation of four of their BG100 biomass generators . Each
produces 100kW electricity
and 200kW-heat energy from totally renewable sources,
saving c.600 tonnes of
carbon dioxide emissions per unit per year when compared
to conventional fossil
fuel powered systems.
 The
BG100 unit burns a wide variety of biomass fuels including wood chips,
coppiced willow and miscanthus
(elephant grass). The first production unit has
been installed at Harper
Adams University College and is also being used to test
the suitability of other
agricultural residue fuels such as wheat straw. company
has now installed another
three units including one in Switzerland. The BG100
has a unique design that
harnesses the power of nature in a carbon neutral
manner and has been designed
to be ideally suited for use on Britain’s farms.
In operation the unit
is totally automated including the fuel feed and is
designed for continuous
24 / 7 operation with minimal service downtime. It
will generate sufficient
electricity for most farms and provide hot water for
domestic and other purposes.
This also means that a significant
diversification source
of revenue is possible from the sale of electricity.

 At
the heart of the system is a micro turbine generator, which is adapted
to
Bob Talbott’s patented
concept. The whole system other than the external fuel
bunker is contained in
two stacked shipping containers making transportation
as easy as possible. On
site installation is minimal since the units are factory
assembled in the containers.

Talbott's recognized as leader in Renewable Energy Industry
The renewable energy
industry celebrated the second year of the British
Renewable Energy Awards
with a gala dinner in London on June 21st. Talbott's
Biomass Energy Ltd. of
Stafford secured the BREA Innovation Award "for creating the
world's 1st practical
biomass Combined Heat and Power generator."

REA's Chief Executive
Philip Wolfe commented; "These awards honor outstanding
achievement in the British
renewable energy sector and are a timely recognition of
exceptional contribution,
innovation and excellence in the industry. This year's extraordinary
number of high-quality
of nominees displayed the scope of talent and originality that exists.
